Q. Do you provide a warranty on your services/ products?
A. We stand behind our work as we have for the last 43 years. We offer a full 2 year warranty against all material defects and workmanship issues should a warranty issue arise.

Q. How long is your proposal valid?
A. Due fluctuations in our volatile markets, our quotes are valid for 30 days. We work very closely with our suppliers who provide notice when the possibility of cost changes are on the horizon. Our experience has been this may occur once or twice during the season but we try to lock in pricing as able.

Q. What areas do you service?
A. Metropolitan Chicago - Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, McHenry and Will counties, and NW Indiana.

Q. Will BHP help with the permit process?
A. Absolutely! We handle the permitting process from start to finish. We provide detailed aerial maps and service specifications to comply with all village and or industry standards. We then schedule inspections and close out the permit with the village/town when required. It is a seamless process to our clients.

Q. How do we coordinate the work with our tenants, employees or residents?
A. We want you to know 100% what to expect! Prior to each job you will have an onsite walk thru with one of our engineers to review the scope, logistics and expectations. We also provide a site map detailing the location of the areas being repaired, and phasing maps if a larger project. You will be kept up to date on job progress with pictures, weather reports and traffic control plans. Again, a seamless process for our client.

Q. I have a new parking lot, what should I do now?
A. Similar to your car, you need to maintain it in order for it to last and to keep protecting your investment. Manufacturer's recommend 30-40 days after new pavement is laid, you should sealcoat your lot to protect it from harmful UV rays and to prevent future deterioration. Cracks that have developed from settling or the freeze and thaw cycle need to be addressed immediately. Following the initial maintenance this should be repeated every 2-3 years. Black Hawk Paving can provide you a scheduled Preventative Maintenance Plan to help you extend your pavements life and save you money.

Q. What Sealcoat material do you use and why is yours better?
A. We use Sealmaster’s Ultra Blend Pavement Sealer exclusively. We believe it the best product available, offering the greatest ROI. It is factory blended, with 10% sand with a polymer additive. Unlike others, we do not mix this design, it comes to Black Hawk straight from the factory, and we go direct to our client.
B. For clients who prefer an eco product, we can also BioSeal, an eco-friendly preserver that is dye and petroleum free. There is a premium for this product.

Q. Why does the sealer discolor around cracks after the parking lot has been newly Sealcoated?
A.This typically results from one of the following: A high water table, inadequate drainage or excessive moisture in the sub-base below the pavement. The excessive moisture is siphoned to the surface bringing mineral pyrites to the surface, resulting in a white discoloration. There are particular areas this will occur and we can discuss if applicable

Q. How do you repair failed asphalt parking lots?
A: Depending on the age and condition there are several methods to these repairs. Budgets and expected length of ownership are important considerations too. We will review with our client, ask multiple questions and then propose one fo the following: Patch, mill/overlay or completely remove and replace. Again, our client's feedback and concerns are critical to this process.

Q. Do you offer concrete repairs?
A: Yes, we have an experienced team dedicated to concrete repairs of all types.
